System to prevent gambling addiction passes recertification according to EuroPriSe successfully
Austrian-based ADMIRAL Casinos & Entertainment AG (ACE) has been awarded with the European Privacy Seal for its IT-based service ADMIRAL-Card-System once again.
ACE operates entertainment casinos at several locations in Austria. Austrian law obliges casino operators to meet high requirements regarding the prevention of gambling addiction. The ADMIRAL-Card-System is a computer-assisted system with procedures for access control and countermeasures against gambling addiction that are based on the gaming behaviour of a person. As a last resort, an access ban can be imposed on persons whose subsistence minimimum is at risk due to their gambling addiction.
The current recertification included the evaluation of the new possibility to register fingerprints with ACE as an alternative means to open turnstiles and activate gaming machines.
The re-evaluation was performed by EuroPriSe Legal & Technical Expert Prof. Hans-Jürgen Pollirer and EuroPriSe Technical Expert Mag. Jürgen Stöger. It took place on the basis of the EuroPriSe Criteria Catalogue for IT-products and IT-based Services v201701. The evaluators concluded that the ADMIRAL-Card-System continues to meet all applicable EuroPriSe requirements.
