DRACOON GmbH renews European Privacy Seal for DRACOON

The web-based virtual data space “DRACOON” (formerly marketed as Secure Data Space) succesfully passed recertification according to EuroPriSe’s “GDPR ready” certification criteria*.

DRACOON is a web-based virtual data space which can be used for uploads, downloads, storage, management and transmission of data. DRACOON is designed for B2B relationships. It is accessible via https://dracoon.team.

Depending on the individual usage scenario, data may qualify as personal data and even as special categories of personal data. Confidentiality of (personal) data can be ensured by means of encryption technology at the client side. DRACOON GmbH advises the users to choose this option when processing personal data by means of DRACOON in a data protection leaflet.

DRACOON GmbH (previously traded under the name SSP Europe GmbH) was initially awarded the European Privacy Seal in April 2015 and successfully renewed it for the first time in June 2015 after a version change.

The 2018 reevaluation was conducted by EuroPriSe Technical Expert Alexey Testsov and EuroPriSe Legal Expert Dr. Irene Karper. It showed that DRACOON continues to meet all applicable EuroPriSe requirements. It is worth noting that DRACOON does even comply with EuroPriSe‘s “GDPR ready” requirements already and that DRACOON GmbH underwent a combined recertification procedure, which resulted in the award of two seals, the EuroPriSe seal and the Datenschutz-Gütesiegel granted by ULD, the data protection authority of Schleswig-Holstein.
